General
Ampza is an EV charging network being built for Tamil Nadu and Kerala, around one promise: if a station is shown as available, it should work. You will find stations, see the price, start a session and track the charge in one app. We are pre-launch, and building the app and our first station partnerships now.
We are starting in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, with stations at host sites such as malls, hotels, offices and restaurants. Stations appear on the app map as they go live. Join the waitlist to hear when one opens near you.
We have not announced a launch date. We would rather open a small number of tested stations than rush a large network. Join the waitlist and we will tell you first.
Our launch stations support these connectors:
- CCS2 (DC fast): the main standard for most new electric cars and SUVs sold in India.
- Type 2 (AC): slower charging for longer stops.
- CHAdeMO (DC fast): at select stations, for compatible vehicles.
Check your vehicle's charging port before you go; the app shows the connector types at each station.
It depends on your battery size, how full it is, and the maximum rate your car accepts. As a rough guide, DC fast charging typically takes around 30 to 60 minutes to go from 20% to 80%, while AC charging takes several hours. Your vehicle manual has the figures for your model.
App & account
The app is not live yet. When it launches, download links for the App Store and Google Play will be on this site. Join the waitlist to be notified.
Enter your mobile number, verify it with an OTP, and add your name and vehicle details. You do not need an RFID card to start.
At launch the app is the main way to charge. An optional Ampza RFID card, which starts a session with a single tap and no app at the charger, is planned after launch.
Email [email protected] from your registered address, or use the in-app request option when available. See our Privacy Policy for your rights and how long we keep data.
Starting and tracking a charge
- Open the app and choose a station and connector.
- Plug the connector into your car.
- Tap your phone at the station with AmpTap to start the session.
- Track speed, cost and time remaining in the app.
See How to charge for the full walkthrough.
AmpTap lets you start a session by tapping your phone at the station. No separate RFID card is required at launch.
With Auto Charge, charging can start on its own when you plug in, with no tap needed. It depends primarily on your vehicle model, so check that your car is supported and activate the feature if required. Station or network capability may also affect availability. Auto Charge is planned for launch.
An optional card linked to your account. Tap it to start a session with no app needed at the charger. It still works when your phone has little signal, and cards can be assigned to family members or fleet drivers. It is planned after launch.
The app shows live station status, connector type, distance and price on the map. We are working on live occupancy updates as well. Reliability is what we measure, and we are aiming for at least 97% monthly uptime per connector.
Yes. Stop it from the app or at the charger any time. You pay only for the energy delivered.
Payments, wallet & invoices
You pay per kWh of energy delivered. The tariff is shown in the app before you start. See Pricing for how it works.
UPI, debit and credit cards, net banking and the Ampza wallet. The options available are shown in the app at checkout.
- Open Wallet in the app.
- Enter the top-up amount.
- Pay with UPI, card or net banking.
The wallet can be used only for Ampza charging, and balances cannot be transferred to another user.
Yes, for every session, in the app and by email. You can add your business details to your profile so that invoices carry them.
See our Cancellation & Refund Policy. In short, we refund sessions that did not start, stopped because of a fault on our side, or were billed incorrectly, back to your original payment method.
If something goes wrong
- Check the connector is fully plugged in and your vehicle is ready to charge.
- Try starting the session again in the app.
- If it still fails, contact support from the app, or call us on +91-9842910644.
If you were charged but the session did not start, we will refund it.
Raise a refund request with the station, date and session ID, as soon as you can after the session. We check the station and payment records and refund any amount for energy not delivered.
That is exactly what we are building Ampza to avoid. Please report it to us so we can fix it; we track uptime, session success and fault restoration for every station.
Email [email protected] or call +91-9842910644. In-app chat will be available at launch. See Contact us.
Use the grievance form on our Contact page. Tell us what happened and we will look into it and get back to you.
Hosting & partnerships
Tell us about your site through the partner enquiry form. We look for strong repeat footfall and dwell time, a suitable power connection or capacity to add one, parking for charger bays with safe access, and a visible, easy-to-reach location. You provide space and power; Ampza provides hardware, app listing and support, and you share in session revenue.
Commercial terms are agreed with each partner, in writing, before a station goes live. Start with the partner enquiry form and the founding team will get in touch.
Yes, if it is OCPP-compatible. We check compatibility for each charger model, then list it so drivers can find it and pay through the app.
